What I don't get is why some people, like the Leader of the Loon Brigade, value stupid as a virtue. They actually disdain science and intellectualism.. and in Doug's case, gets his ass kicked out of college for being a very strange individual, incapable of handling the coursework that every other student does.
Maybe that's why the Loons hate universities, and despise professors. Deep down, they know they are intellectually incapable, and instead of just dealing with it, they instead make bizarre claims about higher education. There's some big conspiracy or other at universities across the world.. because.. it would be impossible that people like Doug and Terry are just very dim people. Nah.. that can't be it..
Which is an overly-long setup to get to Doug's latest stupid-as-fuck proclamation.
Supreme Court is supposed to give opinion regarding the application of the U.S. Constitution, and then it is up to Congress whether or not to determine to follow the Supreme Court's decision, or not.
Doug continually asserts that one not need be a lawyer, nor have any actual training in the law to "understand" the Constitution.
In Doug's world.. fully one third of the Federal government has no authority what so ever. The Supreme Court rulings have zero impact, and zero authority and their rulings are merely an "opinion" that Congress can simply ignore.
Seriously.. that's what Doug believes.. despite the very long history of the court, striking down legislation on Constitutional grounds.
I've documented for ages how utterly deranged people like Doug are.. but I think it's more important to understand why the Doug Gibbs' and Terry Williams' of the world think the way they do.
It's all just a coping mechanism for their own inferiority. There's no shame in being stupid.. but it's completely different to be willfully stupid. Doug takes it to all new levels by completely making shit up, and saying it as if it is the rest of the world that completely misunderstands.
The funny part is that he knows he exists in a fringe minority, but he honest to Gorak thinks it's everyone else that are the "idiots". And that's where his persecution complex comes from.
Doug also pulls some statistics out of his ass;
A great example is the fact that 9 in 10 babies who, by pre-natal testing, are determined to have Down Syndrome, are aborted
If 9 out of 10 downs fetuses are aborted (which Doug claims without reference), then that means that most Christian Conservatives that have a downs fetus get an abortion.
Those damn Christ followers are baby killers.
dumbest.. ever.

And you are who?
When Doug brought up his story of getting kicked out of school, he declined to detail what the situation was. He just wanted to whine about his own persecution again, without saying a word about what, exactly, happened.
In other words, he wanted to bring up some situation with zero context or explanation, just so he could continue his bullshit assault on higher learning. Why even mention it in the first place?
It reminds me of Terry going on about his "past" problem.. bringing it up for some unknown reason and deciding to not even explain what it was.
I have never.. ever.. heard of a student getting booted from college for challenging a profressor on an issue of the course work. Universities, as a rule of thumb, value that sort of thing. In fact, that's how science progresses.. by challenges to the existing paradigms and substantiating alternative explanations.
However, if the explanation is "the Bible says so", then that's not good enough.
Again, we're short on details here (which is a theme with you loons), but if, for example, Doug took exception with something in a biology course that conflicted with the Biblical interpretation, and Doug refused to learn the course work, he should have dropped the class instead of trying to change the course content of the class.
It wasn't DOUG's class.. it was the professors, and if he couldn't conduct himself in such a way (as everyone else) to study the material and pass the exams, then he had no business being there.
In other words.. a student is NOT going to change accepted norms of higher education because it doesn't comport to some made up bullshit they think is true, basing it on zero imperical data.
You actually expect people to believe (especially those who have taken college level classes) that Doug merely "challenged" a profressor, and said professor had Doug not only booted out of the class, but booted out of the entire university.. and not only that, make it so Doug could not attend ANY other school?
Are you that fucking crazy?
I don't have to "make" other people look bad. Those I write about (and quote and link to) are quite capable of making themselves look bad.
And you see what I'm doing here Terry? I'm leaving your comment and responding to it... and explaining to you why you are wrong about it.
All you freaks know how to do is delete off any dissenting opinion or statements of fact.. because you are cowards.. and intellectually bankrupt.
And if you're not Terry.. who the fuck are you?
doug has an IQ of 174 remember tom... if he says your congress can ignore your supreme court i guess it must be true coz i read it on teh intarwebs. lol
also i dunno what these guys have against communist lecturers, my pol sci lecturer last year was one of the prominent socialist leaders in australia and he's got tenure at our country's best university.
was one of the best lecturers i've ever had.
i think it's a reasonable expectation that anyone who's made it to university on merit and not daddy's wallet or a sports scholarship should have the mental capacity to be exposed to a range of subjects and view points and assess them critically to form your own unique outlook on the world. for me that's the best part of uni - having my views and assumptions challenged and seeing if they hold up; or occasionally that they don't!
i did an intro to religion and then a few units of islamic studies, even as a passionate anti-theist and found them fascinating.
so i'm with you tom - whatever doug did to warrant being booted out of college must have been pretty out there.
And you've got to know that if he didn't explain exactly what happened, it must be because it doesn't make his situation very sympathetic.
Maybe it was a geology class, and a professor was talking about how they estimate the age of rocks.. and Doug asserted that the rocks could not be over 6000 years old, and carbon dating must be a Liberal conspiracy.. because the Bible says so.
Ya.. I'm making that up.. but because Doug won't explain what actually happened, I'll enjoy making shit up.
"If 9 out of 10 downs fetuses are aborted (which Doug claims without reference), then that means that most Christian Conservatives that have a downs fetus get an abortion."
No, it's just that god curses us baby slaughtering liberal satan mongers with a high rate of Down's Syndrome in children because he hates us. :P
For the record, Doug did reference a story. He just links weird as he puts all his related links at the bottom of a story.
Not so sure how trustworthy the CNS news is, but there you have it...
