So.. I'm at the office and I need a small moving box. I see the IT goon walking out of his den, catch his attention, and ask him if I can ask a quick question.
Mistake; Do NOT ask the IT goon if you can ask a question. Just ask the question.
He said, "I've got two emergencies I'm dealing with this morning. Please log a ticket.".. and walks off.
He doesn't really have two "emergencies". The network is functional, and anything else cannot be an emergency. He's just making shit up.. because he's an arrogant ass.
He's got the food chain backwards. I know I've said this many times, but in IT shops, the only people that really matter are the software engineers. The engineers create works of art.. things that thousands and thousands of people use every day.. and in our case.. use them to save soldiers lives. Technically, I suppose the doctors are more important than we are.. but.. I'm talking about the IT shop.. where the freakin' pony-tail wearing douche bag who thinks that MCSE is badass should be getting me a fucking donut and a cup of coffee, instead of giving me grief.

Lol, onsite.
Could be worse, we dont even have onsite for our IBM owned gear here (customer site and all that). Up until recently their policy was that we had to drop all our stuff off to them which meant taking it across town. These days they stop by one of the nearby buildings to pick up anything busted, so I guess thats a step up.
