The Iranian Model of Justice

In some ways, superior to the United States.

The journalist that was detained, tried, and sentenced to 8 years imprisonment was released after an Iranian appeals court tossed out the sentence.

As Glenn Greenwald points out, the United States is far more abusive than the Iranians when it comes to the justice system. We hold prisoners for years without habeas rights.. no trials.. no due process what so ever.

To be sure, and at the risk of repeating myself, I do find American journalism to be corrupt, down to the bone. In other words, they have embraced the "American dream" - as we all know that "dream" is nothing but corruption.

If you think the "American Dream" is the ethic of working hard, and innovation, you're so 40 years ago. Today, it's all about doing whatever it takes to make a lot of money, without getting caught and tried for whatever crimes you commit along the way. All that matters is the competition.. defeating the other guy.. by any means necessary.

I don't see this changing any time soon.
