"I believe all of us make mistakes, and once you've fulfilled your commitment and paid the price, you should be given a second chance," Lawson said in a telephone interview. "He's not a bad person. He made some bad choices."
The guy is going to give Michael Vick a full time job at his construction company when he's released from prison next month.
It's a shame he didn't have a built in ability for basic compassion and common sense. He did a really awful thing.. but at this point, you have to wonder when to stop punishing a person.
Should he be allowed to play football again? If he's paid his debt, who's to say what he can't do to earn a living. He'll just have to deal with the constant harassment from the fans, which is quite well deserved.

I think it's odd that we get sooooo mad over Vick but Stallworth kills somone and there are 2 blurbs on EPSN. I realize Vick was a higher profile target, but even if it was Rashied Davis we would still hear all about a dogfighting ring. I kinda wonder why that is.
There is the level of fame.. but I also think that most people feel more emotional about dogs being abused than some random person being killed in a car accident.
I suppose the rarity of the event plays a part. Random people die in cars every day.. dog fighting rings are kind of an unusual story.
I really think most people's emotional center is out of whack, and that leads to weird behavior in the media.
