Superbowl

Good game after a slow start. Great finish. I thought I was watching the Cowboys flush another game down the toilet.

Prior to Arizona getting the Cardinals, I was a Cowboy fan, mostly because the Cowboys were on teevee every week. After we got the Cardinals, and we found out how hapless they were, I stuck with the Cowboys.

Still, I rooted for them in the big game. Arizona sports has only won one World Championship.. the 2001 World Series (I was there, yay). It would have been nice to add another.

How could there be three defenders on one receiver in the end-zone and still allow him to catch the ball?

The officiating was piss poor, but I doubt it had much effect on the game. How they can call unsportsmanlike penalties in the 4th quarter of a tight Super Bowl is beyond me.

Somebody asked me if I thought Kurt Warner would make the Hall of Fame. I thought not, but doing a bit of checking, he has a rather unique career. He was undrafted and came up from arena football and the Canadian league. He's got solid stats, and he's won a Super Bowl twice. However, he's only made the Pro Bowl 4 times, and for some reason, when you think of legendary quarterbacks, Kurt Warner doesn't spring to mind.

Getting into the Hall is a very difficult thing to do, especially at quarterback. You have to have some legend to go along with your stats and Super Bowl victories (unless you're Dan Marino). I'm not sure that Warner will get there. I rather doubt it.

And I'm very turned off by christian freakiness in football. It's a violent athletic competition. Leave your god at home please.
