The Times

They are a changing.

Cadets at the U.S. Military Academy Thursday announced the nominees for the 2nd Annual Cadet Choice Award for the movie character that best exemplifies West Point leadership.

The nominees are:

Bruce Wayne in “The Dark Knight”
Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg in “Valkyrie”
"Indiana" Jones, Jr. in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”
John Hancock in “Hancock”
Harvey Milk in “Milk”
James Bond in “Quantum of Solace”

I like those choices. Here's a prediction from me.. based on nothing but a gut feeling.

A progressive wave will sweep the nation, as the economic conditions deteriorate. Eventually the economy stabilizes, leaving behind a new attitude of live and let live, and decreased religious influence. People just want a job, make a few bucks, raise their kids and enjoy life.

Obama ends up being one of the most popular Presidents in American history, and the lunatic fringe right wing freaks end up marginalized to the point that it bores me to even shred their screeds anymore... but maybe simply pointing and laughing will suffice.

Of course, I could be completely wrong.. but certainly the entire feel of the nation is going to be very different after Obama is sworn in.
