Asshat Quote of the Day

It is time for the Christian bashing to stop and for Christians to no longer be treated like second-class citizens. - The Christian Anti-Defamation Commission
It is weird that the most privileged class in America seems to think they are the most persecuted. It's as if their religious views require they nail themselves to the cross.. over and over and over. Everything about them is dripping in paranoia.

As the good Dr. Myers sez; "It it time for Christian bashing to increase, I should think."

...

Netflix is sending me a film called The God Who Wasn't There. Naturally.. it explores the whole Jesus myth. I expect it'll be quite entertaining, and informative.

Fundamentalism is as strong today as it ever has been, with an alarming 44% of Americans believing that Jesus will return to earth in their lifetimes

It is quite simply the biggest scam ever perpetrated on humanity. It's dangerous in that it celebrates placing the supernatural above the real, and horrifies the senses in a bloodbath of unimaginable pain, cruelty, and death, even as it wraps itself in a twisted set of "morals". It does nothing but serve the vanity of the ruling religious class, and it will go on abusing and killing indefinitely until it is stopped. There will always be the insane few, whose fear drives them to sacrifice their own sanity, but I hope that in time, the rational will overcome the completely made up fantasy.

I know people really want to believe in something. They don't want to think they will simply wink out of existence. Nobody knows for sure.. and that's the point. The whole Jesus thing though.. that's simply a recycling of the same myth that's been around for thousands of years... repeated over and over.
