Landslide

All I can say is.. wow.

/adding a half hour later after I've had a glass of a nice Merlot to toast my own birthday.. on this day.. on "I have a dream day".

I'll likely have something to say about this soon.. and I might just crib Sullivan again. I can't believe I've been doing that, because Sully is usually such a tool..

I have never been so moved by politics in my life. Over the last 8 years, I've been near despondent about what has happened to this nation. So much of politics is empty promises of hope - and nothing ever changes because the players are always the same.

I distrust.. I'm skeptical by nature.. I'm going to invest myself in this.

/adding adding

Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC:

"I've never witnessed anything quite like this. Beside the fact that it was an absolutely gorgeous night. How did they get the luck? If it had rained here tonight, it would have been a disaster... and they have this cool, breezy night. I don't know how they could have done it any better."

Thank Gorak for that one.

...

Pat Buchanan;

"It was was a genuinely outstanding speech. It was magnificent."

Oh my god.. Pat Buchanan thinks it was the greatest political speech of all time. The quotes could go on and on. Holy shit..

Keith Olbermann had to break in and.. as he said "stop Buchanan from gushing over Obama's speech".

What a great day...

It almost makes me want to just ignore Doug because it's all just so much white noise of stupid drivel... almost..

/you know the drill

Chris Matthews;

"I really hate it.. because what's it's based on is finding differences.. finding differences in orientation.. and making them into the biggest deals in the world... finding things that divide us, just for the purposes of dividing us. I really do think that hurts our patriotism."

I'm typing that in as I keep stopping the computer tivo to make sure I get it right.

I do have some issues (minor) with Obama's positions.. but he changes everything. He pushes everything I've been saying on my blog for.. what.. 3.. 4 years.. whatever it's been.. and it sets it right in front of people. No hiding. No dodging. It's right there in front of you, and you have to decide if you come with America, or you just become the white noise of really stupid fucking idiocy of bullshit dogma that nobody gives a shit about anymore.

This is transformational, in a way that we've probably never seen in the American culture.

When I stop quoting Doug and ridiculing him.. you know we've arrived.

/again

Jesse Jackson is talking about the people who made this possible.. countless people who we will never know.. who laid the groundwork of what it meant to be a human being.. to be American.... where you can say.. "this is what we are". They made it possible for Barack Obama.

We should never forget that.
