Doug Gibbs on MSNBC

It gets good at about 4 minutes in.

I hate to be gracious to conservatives, but here's a tip. The "omgz we'ez all gonna die" rhetoric doesn't work anymore. You're getting slaughtered in elections. Might want to find another tack.

.....

By the way.. John McCain voted against drilling in ANWR... which makes the Loon Brigade....

Media headlines from yesterday;

Slate: Panic at the House (news round-up)
NY Times: Republican Election Losses Stir Fall Fears
canada.com: GOP officials despair as 'safe' seats choose the other team
globeandmail.com: Wake up and smell the disenchantment
cqpolitics: GOP Seeks to Rebrand After Childers Victory (good luck with that, boys)
AFP: Shaken Republicans look to McCain as savior (good luck with that, too)
WaPo: After String of Losses, Republicans Face Crisis
Reuters: US Republicans scramble in wake of defeats
USAToday: Republicans fear public has lost confidence (pssst... they have)
AP: Third House loss shakes GOP, raises fears for fall
MSNBC: GOPer compares brand to bad 'dog food' (points for originality and honesty)
The funniest part about the whole thing.. and I truly find this hysterical, is that loons like Doug.. the "Christian right".. the hard core war mongers who think that Russia and the Arab states are going to attack Israel.. they actually think that if the Republicans just move further to the right, and embrace Jesus a little more.. and hate some more on the homos and insist evolution is a fraud.. then everything will be just peachy and Americans will vote them back into office. They honest-to-Gorak believe that.

Ummm.. LOL

What John McCain is trying to do, is try and sound more Obama-like. He assumes that the Loon Brigade will still vote for him, so he doesn't give a shit if they grumble a lot. That's not the demographic he's after. However, he's not nearly as good at being Obama as Obama is.. and I can't imagine anyone being inspired by his oratory.

What concerns me is what happens after Obama is elected. Some people assume that if you just have the right policy, it's impossible for a terrorist attack to happen in the US. Tim McVeigh proved that's not true. If it happens while Obama is president, the Republicans will instantly seize on it to try and create the perception that Democratic politicians want us all to die.

It's quite silly.. but most people don't see through it, and it'll likely work for a while.

I have great confidence that Obama isn't going to screw it up.. by doing something dumb like getting a blow job from an intern. He doesn't strike me as that kind of a guy.
