Erick Erickson, editor of the popular conservative megablog RedState, conceded that progressives currently enjoy an advantage over conservatives online-though he attributed it to an asymmetry in free time, since conservatives "have families because we don't abort our kids, and we have jobs because we believe in capitalism."

Conservatism.. at least the fundi (Doug) version of it is dead.

For quite a while, many Americans were okay with the bible thumping.. Quite a few Americans think "Jesus is just alright with me".. but the fundis pushed it. Their assualt on American secularism has backfired on them.. that, combined with the obvious hypocrisy of religion.. in it's greed.. crime.. and sexual hypocrisy, has soured most Americans on the bullshit that is the American theocratic movement.

As an aside.. Ted Haggard, mega church fundi anti-gay freak, decided that "therapy" to turn him hetero wasn't going so well, so he bailed the "counseling center". Of course.. Doug would argue that Haggard "chose" to be gay.. despite having a wife and kids and his head up Jesus' ass.. but then Doug is stupid as fuck, so that's to be expected. How funny is it that Haggard got caught, lied about it, admitted it, tried to "convert", failed, and then left.

He's the worst sort of hypocritical asshole religious freak because he didn't just fuck up his own life.. he fucked up the lives of his wife and kids. What an asshole. If he hadn't been brainwashed by the freaks, he might have just lead a gay life from the beginning and turned out the way he was meant to be.

Anyway.. I find it so amusing that John McCain is their nominee, and they're freaking. Still, McCain is going to lose badly. The Republican leadership may be evil, but they aren't stupid. They knew the fundi freaks were useful for a while.. they knew Americans would put up with a bit of Jebus freakiness for a while.. but it's over. Expect more McCain-like candidates from the Republicans.. because they are in for a long number of years with no influence on the policy direction of the country. Going back to Jebus is a ticket to permanent minority status.

Oh.. and I've been a big Hillary Clinton supporter for quite a while.. but Obama really is making the case for throwing away the scum of the last 7 years. Thinking about Obama/Edwards gives me a warm fuzzy.
