Video of the Day
I came across this documentary advertisement and I thought I'd post it because it has some relevance to a recent controversy in the Obama campaign. It seems Obama has invited an anti-gay black minister to speak at an official campaign event. There has been some backlash and the campaign has not handled it well.
There's a few ways that gay people react to anti-gay rhetoric from the religious establishment. Some people ignore it. Some try to change "hearts and minds" by rational discussion or persuasive speech. Some of us hate them back. I'm in the later category. Yes, yes, I know.. we're supposed to be "bigger" than that or something.. but had I been black in the 60's, I'd likely have been a member of the Black Panthers. It's just in my nature.
When you look at the evil of bigotry, you have to realize exactly what it is they are doing to you. No, most are not trying to kill you, but they are trying to do everything they can to kill you in another way.. and that's by dehumanizing you. It's asking you to live as an inferior human being, beneath human dignity.
I don't get how some gay people can't hate them back. Does hating them back accomplish anything? Probably not... but why the fuck should we ask nicely for dignity and equality?
People like Doug Gibbs and his Loon Brigade are exactly like those shown in the documentary. They will tell you they don't hate anyone. They will claim "we're all sinners", and blah blah blah.. but when you toss out that moronic rhetoric and realize what exactly they are saying, it's evil in it's most basic form.
And that's why I say things like "Catholics are evil".. it's because they are.. and the so-called Christians that would dehumanize another group of people are the worst sort of evil - the sort of evil that has lead to horrible atrocities in "Gods" name.
Fuck them and their god.

Your inability to seperate the Catholic Church from other Christian religions, and those "religions" from true Christians, astounds me. The Catholic Church, as you have stated, is evil. I agree. And the history of the Catholic Church is filled with nothing but bigotry, racism, anti-semitism, and violence. Even today the Church cannot control the urge of its priests around little boys. Each of these problems is because of the Church's inability to follow scripture. For example, no where does it say specifically that pastors should remain unmarried and celibate. It goes against the human condition, and scripture. I'm not sure who battles harder for little boys. Priests or Michael Jackson. Also, no one is to call anyone "Father" in the reverant way Catholics call the priests, that is supposed to be reserved for "God." No where does the Bible conclude that people should confess their sins to a mere man. Why can't people talk to God directly about their sins in prayer? Since when is Mary anything more than the woman chosen to carry Christ in her womb? Why is it they have rosaries and an over abundance of crucifixes and candles and statues of Mary and such? Doesn't that go against the commandment about idol worship? And yes, the sort of evil perpetuated by the Catholic Church has lead to horrible atrocities in "God's Name". Christianity has been poisoned by the Catholics and the Pentecostals and the Lutherans and the Mormans. The scripture has been twisted and changed to mean something different than it's intended meaning. What about the Benny Hinns of the world, and all the rest of the "healers?" Since when did God desire that his people conduct what amounts to a money-changing circus in His name? I don't think God is a chaotic God like that. I don't think most of these freaks even deserve to call themselves Christians. It sickens me. But, that does not mean that God should be forgotten because these assholes have ruined His message, or His church. Many Bible literalists, as you call them, and I am not talking about the Baptists or such that go the extreme when it comes to legalism (regarding the Law of Moses), either, understand the message and what was meant by it. This is where Doug comes in when it comes to his beliefs. He, and I, are just as sickened by the acts of the Catholic Church and those that proclaim faith, but are merely nothing more than counterfeits. Sorry that you have been poisoned by them too. However, the understanding that Homosexuality is a sinful act is Biblical, thus believed by folks such as myself and Doug. That does not mean that one must hate that person. Often, they know not what they do in the terms of biblical truth, or they reject any Christian view because of the atrocities and harm caused by the Catholic Church, Baptists, Pentecostals, Lutherans, Jim and Tammy Faye Bakkers, Benny Hinn style healers, etc. It's a shame really, that because of these religions and people (crooks?)misrepresenting The Word people have moved away from God. They, I am sure, in God's eyes, are even worse than those that reject Him, because they claim to represent Him, and do so in a such a terrible way. Which is worse? Claiming to be a child of God and misrepresenting him? Or claiming not to be a child of God and acting accordingly? I say the first.
lol! So, you don't beleive in the death penalty because it's "eye for an eye" but you'd join the Black Panthers specifically because it is?
Wow....
WTF?
