Traitors

Beating a dead horse here I know.. but Greenwald has a nice post about an issue near and dear to my heart. That is, "civility".

Greenwald documents many examples of the tendency for the loons to refer to Democrats and liberals as "traitors". This is from Wing Nut Daily;

Think of what I am saying: A man who came to prominence and notoriety in American life, and who is now on the threshold of winning the White House, was actively aiding and abetting the enemy just 33 years ago. He was a tool. He was an agent. He was working for the other side.

That's why I say it is time to stop playing rhetorical games with respect to Kerry.

There is only one word in the English language that adequately describes what he was in 1971 -- and what he remains today for capitalizing on the evil he perpetrated back then. That word is "traitor."

There were two candidates in 2000. John Kerry was a decorated Vietnam combat veteran. George Bush had his flying authorization in the National Guard revoked because he missed a physical..

... and John Kerry is the traitor.

I've been thinking about why, exactly, the Right Wing Loons feel the need to constantly refer to millions of Americans as traitors or worse. Doug does it constantly, and then he says I "sicken" him? He seems to think it's perfectly okay to heap the most vile insult possible on liberals, it's not "sickening", and not a "misrepresentation". Why? Because he honestly thinks liberals are traitors, therefore he's just "saying it like it is".

Notice that I never, ever, question the patriotism of conservatives, and the vast vast majority or other liberals never do.. it is a common theme from the right. I think Doug does it because he's merely a parrot of the more high profile right wing noise machine. It's exactly the same tactic that causes 30+% of Americans to believe that Saddam Hussein was involved in the attacks on 9/11. Lie about something enough, and many people will believe it just because of their blind trust in their movement.

So, Doug says I "can't stand on anything properly", yet all he's got is "liberals are traitors" - which to him, again, is a perfectly obvious argument to make because it's so obviously true... to him.

This is why I despise them, and why I take great pleasure in addressing these issues. I like my Right Wing Loon blog, and will get even more misrepresentative on it in the future. If Doug wanted to debate on topic without going completely insane with the "anti-military traitors" rhetoric, I'm sooooo up for it. But he can't. His argument is empty, as is the arguments I read from higher profile loons.

Read the Geenwald essay and get angry. Fuck those fucking fuckers that have the gall to call us traitors. Just fuck off already..
