The arguement doesn't hold water. You could say that about any particular reaction. All it does is try and drum up support with a pity vote.

For instance...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel-United_States_relations#United_States_military_and_economic_aid

So, according to that in 1998 we agreed to STOP giving them economic aid and give them exclusively military aid over the next 10 years. Note:Israel is the single largest expenditure of the US in terms of foriegn aid historically. The largest pre Iraq with a total of ~40% of the total budget depending on the year.

We give more to Israel than we do to the entire continent of Africa. And now we are going to do so in just military aid?

Why not stop giving money to Israel entirely? Then we could give healthcare to another 1.7 million kids every year.

Hell, and what about Darfur?

Now, you'll probably regale me with calling me an idiot and how you were making a point about the pointless expenditure of lives and money on a needless war and how that money and energy could be spent on something more worthwhile.

I completely agree. However, putting up the Sally Struthers-esque chart without any real substance doesn't say anyhing except that it makes an arguement without being Prima facie.

Glad you rebutted your own point.
