Can't Win for Losing
Tucker Carlson is on my teevee whining because John Kerry didn't come to the rescue of a young, disruptive, college student during a Q&A, who was eventually forced to the ground, held by 6 police officers, and then tazered after pleading not to be.
Watching the video, it's apparent the officers over reacted, and must be pretty pathetic cops if 6 of them can't cuff and remove a college kid without nailing him with 50k volts (or whatever the hell much it is). However, I'm quite sure that if Kerry had asked the police to let the young man go, and answer his questions, Carlson would have been screaming about Kerry interfering with law enforcement.
In other news, Moveon.org ran an ad in the New York Times, captioned as "General Patraeus, or Betray Us?" shortly before the General's appearnce in Congress last week. I think most lefties cringed a bit on that one. It's one thing to have a strong point of view, but that language danced with accusations of "anti-American" behavior.
As I've said many times, we don't question the loyalty or patriotism of right wing loons, or anyone else that has a "pro-war" point of view. We just think they're wrong. Loons like Doug do it constantly, and it's vile, as I've said over and over. However, the media went apeshit about the ad, and the loons frothed that the Times was giving Moveon a break on the advert fees when they did no such thing.
Media Matters explains why our media is such idiots. Greenwald piles on here, and demonstrates how the right wing does far more vile finger pointing then the left could ever dream of, and nary a word of indignation from the media.
Finally, Bueller answers the call. I must say, it was very well written - honestly - and I will parse it tomorrow I think. I agree with much of it - honestly. However, he references a specific case that is worth exploring and I'm going to ask him a question. It's a very simple question.
Stay tuned....

I expect nothing less than hilarity here Tom and today I found it.
I wonder if they realize how retarded they look calling you gay and tittering like school girls....
As for the taser thing...I think you know how I feel from our previous debate.
The mistake he made was referencing Haditha in support of his argument.
It will be torn to shreds tomorrow after I finish up a bit of research.
I found this on USA Today and thought it was worth mentioning in reference to this...

specifically
On Sunday, The New York Times said it erred in giving the liberal anti-war group a $77,508 price break on a full-page advertisement attacking Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq.
Did you leave out why they erred?
Turns out, Moveon paid the ad rate where there would be a period of time the ad could run in the paper, instead of a specific date. I think I read the time frame is a week, and if you want the ad on a specific day, you pay the higher rate. This was a mistake on the ad salesman's part, and not some nefarious plot to discount ads for liberals.
In fact, the Times made the same exact mistake with some conservative group.. and Moveon has since paid for the higher rate.
It's all a rediculous story.
