...Romney said today that he "didn't mean in any way to compare service in the country with my boys in any way. Service in this country is an extraordinary sacrifice being made by individuals and their families.''

Oh.. so now Romney's prime-age sons are not serving the country with the same distinction as the soldiers in Iraq? Imagine that. I could have sworn that piling into a bus and driving around Iowa was just like fighting a war.

Reminds me of how Rudi "misspoke" when he claimed he was "on the pile" as much as the 9/11 rescuers and he's feeling just fine... meaning that the rescuers with health problems are lying about the source.

Speaking of which.. one of them had something to say about Rudi.

"On 9/11 all [Giuliani] did was run. He got that soot on him, and I don't think he's taken a shower since," - deputy New York City fire chief Jimmy Riches, who spent months digging for his firefighter son at Ground Zero.

And finally.. Turd Blossum needs to "spend time with the family". Somebody should track the whereabouts of Jeff Gannon, and see if he buys any plane tickets for Texas..

Karl Rove, President Bush's close friend and chief political strategist, plans to leave the White House at the end of August, joining a lengthening line of senior officials heading for the exits in the final 1 1/2 years of the administration.

A longtime member of Bush's inner circle, Rove was nicknamed "Turd Blossum" by the president for designing the strategy that twice won him the White House.
