The documentary I referenced in the below post was rather astonishing. Whether any of it is true or not really is immaterial - though I tend to believe the underlying themes are accurate. What we know is true, and it doesn't matter what political affiliation you have, is that we truly live in a dangerous world that controls us.
Why the Patriot Act? Why war in Afghanistan and Iraq? Is it about 9/11 or is it about taking control via the most powerful of human emotions.. fear? Why is nearly every post Doug writes centered around the fear of "terrorists"? Why is that the most important issue facing us today?
Terrorism is nothing. Did 9/11 happen? Most certainly it did, and a lot of people are dead, and lots of money has gone into the coffers of bankers and the so-called military industrial complex as a result. We all agree on that. But, does it matter if Saudis, financed by Pakistanis and trained by Afghans were responsible, or if the towers were brought down in a controlled demolition? Not in the least.
The real fear that I have is the damage to the psyche of this nation by the constant fear of "terrorism". It has been used, and I'm sure we can all agree on this as well, to change the laws regarding our basic civil liberties. Ask most any American if they would give up some rights in order to be "kept safe". They will say yes. Doug would say yes... and that is the most horrifying consequence of 9/11.
Never.. for any reason.. for any circumstance.. for any threat.. would I accept an infringement on my right to be private.. or go where I want without anyone else knowing where, or why, or how long.. or talk to anyone I choose.. or express any opinion.. I will refuse to carry a "national identification card" if they are required by federal law. I will go to jail first.
I don't understand why that isn't first, and foremost, a conservative principal. Why are you afraid of the boogieman that they have told you to be afraid of?
I know I can be very harsh in my criticism of people who claim to be "religious" or "conservative" and I'm asking that question in all seriousness. Your whole belief system is based on this idea that we are supposed to be "free Americans", yet you support the government infringing on those freedoms at every turn. Why? If you are given a National ID Card, are you going to carry it with you wherever you go, like they tell you that you must?
Americans are being told what they are supposed to fear, and how they are supposed to act, and they are doing it with enthusiasm. Muslims are being incited by their "Imams" to act in the exact same way that is required to perpetuate a never-ending war. Countless times we hear politicians, and men like Rick and Doug, claim that we MUST NEVER LEAVE - because leaving is "losing" and we can't loose, yet these people are not making those statements because that is what their rational minds tell them. It is the propaganda of the political ideology - all.. based.. on... fear.
Why is it that we MUST NEVER LEAVE? The War On Terror - a never ending cycle of violence that burns civilizations to the ground. And the kicker is, the truth is that it is all about wealth and power. It is a form of slavery that we have all signed up for... and embraced.. and sit hypnotized by the images of chaos that are presented to us, in hi-def, for our continued sense of fear.
Fuck 9/11. Fuck the Patriot Act. Fuck the Central Bank. Fuck income taxes. Fuck Jesus. And Fuck the mindless zombies who go along with it all. There is a war going on. It isn't a war against Muslims, or "terrorism". The war we're fighting is the control and manipulation of what means to be a human being.. advancing in culture and thought.
Somebody once asked me why I have the poster from V for Vendetta on my side bar. This topic is exactly why. Refuse.. Resist..
And that's the Song of the Day... from Sepultura.
