Sky Dive Rick said...He's been a notorious closet case for years. There isn't any doubt about what he's been up to. But that's not the central issue in this case. Being gay or bi is not a crime.. what he plead guilty to is. I think he was entrapped, and it's ridiculous for cops to do what they did.. but that doesn't change the law.
first, the charges are alleged, second, no intercourse was engaged in, and third, if Craig did actually do this, the Republicans will run him out of Washington as they do with any of their wrongdoers (unlike the Democrats) - example? Jefferson got reelected. All Clinton had to say was that oral sex isn't sex (and he even lied under oath before that). Could you imagine if Craig had been a Democrat? The MSM argument wouldn't have been what it is now, they would be saying things like "how dare anyone persecute this poor man for his sexual orientation" etc.
If Bill Clinton had been pushing legislation that would make getting a blow job from an intern illegal, then there would be an analogy to the Craig situation.
In other words.. the issue isn't that he's gay.. or bi.. The issue is that he's constantly pushed an anti-gay agenda, and that makes him a big giant hypocrite.
I feel sorry for the guy in the sense that he's had to hide his true nature his entire life.. but there's a difference between being in the closet, and being in the closet but an anti-gay hypocrite.
By the way Rick.. the charges are not "alleged". Charges stop being alleged after a conviction.. and Craig pleaded guilty.. meaning that he admitted to the crime.
That's rather obvious.
That we're talking about this at all, and that it's dominating the news, is ridiculous. Could you imagine living your whole life a certain way, and then all of a sudden towards the end of it, you realize you'll not be remembered for your years of government service.. you'll be remembered as the guy that got busted in the john trying to blow a cop.
It's a product of our sexually repressed society. I consider myself to be exceptionally lucky that I'm not hiding anything. I did for a while.. then I said fuck it.. those that would judge me are not worth my bother.
Now.. for this nonsense about Republicans running "wrongdoers" (which apparently means their behavior does not rise to the level of "evildoers") out of Washington.. I give you.. Bob Ney.
Bob Ney remained in Congress until he resigned AFTER he was convicted of corruption charges. He was convicted of corruption charges on October 13, 2006, and resigned from Congress on November 3rd, 2006. The Republicans did not "run him out".
I give you.. Randy "Teh Dukestir" Cunningham. Cunningham remained in Congress until he resigned AFTER he was convicted of corruption charges. He was convicted of corruption charges on November 28, 2005,and resigned from Congress later that day. The Republicans did not "run him out".
Both Ney and Cunningham are currently in a federal prison. There are a string of other Republican toadies that are also currently in prison, many related to the Jack Abrahmoff scandal.
So Rick.. you were obviously completely wrong about Republicans holding their corrupt politicians accountable. Were you aware of the Ney and Cunningham situations and lying, or did you just not know?
And.. were you lying about your claims regarding the "rules of engagement" situation in Iraq, or did you just not know?
Are you a liar, or are you just stupid?
Truth be told.. I kinda like Rick for some reason.. but god damn.. what the fuck is the issue with you Rick? Is it just that you're fed all this propaganda and you don't understand it's all horseshit, or are you just simply lying?
/update
Greenwald examins the hypocrisy of forcing Craig out, while supporting the prostitute fucking, pamper wearing, David Vitter.
Republican leaders generally are circling the wagons around embattled U.S. Sen. David Vitter, Louisiana Republican Party Chairman Roger Villere said Thursday.Of course, the difference is.. that Craig tried solicit a cop for some gay action.. while Vitter was breaking the law by fucking many prostitutes.. but it's not gay, so it's A-Okay!
"The consensus is they don't want him to resign," Villere said after spending hours in phone consultation with Republicans for the past three days.
So Rick.. like how the "Family Values" party is handling Vitter? Like how they showed that "wrongdoer" the door?
Naturally.. the real difference between the two Republican freaks is that Craig will be replaced by a Republican.. and if Vitter resigns, he'll be replaced by a Democrat.
Fucking hypocritical assholes.
