The Left wishes to impeach Bush and Cheney for high crimes and misdemeaners - adding Cheney is ridiculous because Cheney is a part of the Leglislative Branch of government serving as head of the Senate - and any impeachment idea is insane. Think about it. One of the cries for impeachment is calling the current battle in Iraq illegal (does the Left forget that in 2001 by a margin of 98-0 the Senate passed a resolution authorizing the president to "use all necessary and appropriate force" against terrorists and any nation that provided safe harbor and support to them?) - DougOf course, Doug doesn't know much of anything about the Constitution. Again, this is a direct quote from the text itself. Doug calls it "ridiculous".
Article II, Sec. 4 of the ConstitutionStupid fuck.
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the united States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.
It's also worth noting that Iraq was not supporting or providing "safe harbor" to "terrorists".
Meanwhile;
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States on Monday announced a proposed $13 billion military aid package for Egypt and a $30 billion package for Israel, along with plans to provide such aid to Saudi Arabia and Gulf states.I thought we were at war with "Islam". If so, can somebody tell me why we are giving arms to Muslim nations that hate us?
What the fuck is an "aid package"? Are we dropping medical supplies? How the fuck can you call giving (not selling) weapons to middle eastern nations, "aid"? Who the fuck is it aiding?
What.. the... fuck? This is our tax money they are talking about...
Lets not forget that 15 of the 19 hijackers were Saudis. Saudis make up a large portion of the "foreign fighters" in Iraq. The Saudi government is a repressive totalitarian regime. Which, of course, is why George Bush loves them so much.

The enemy of your enemy is your temporary friend.
You really do miss the point don't you?
We've done that over, and over, and over....ad infinitum.
You know who else was our temporary friend? Bin Laden when he was fighting the Soviets. As was Saddam Hussein when he was fighting Iraq.
In the late 80s Iraq used never gas to kill thousands of Kurds. Guess who gave Iraq those weapons? I'll give you a clue: It wasn't Honduras.
We can't keep getting in bed with horrible people when it serves our needs. Not only does it erode our credability, but it more often than not has tragic consequences in the long run.
Ricks comments points out my favoriate topic. Which is that..
The central issue doesn't matter to Rick. It's the ideology behind it that counts. If a Democrat had put forward a plan to give weapons to these Muslim nations, Rick and his friends would lose their fucking minds. Because Bush does it, it's completely different.
While I often point out specific examples of the most horrendous policy decisions, my central point, really - what this is all about, is the culture of the 26 percenters. I am quite facinated by their singular ability to lose any semblence of objectivity or rational thought.
Their entire self is wrapped up in their world view, and their political ideology. You can find rational conservatives like George Will, who completely jumped off the bandwagon, but never Skydiverick. Never Douglas Gibbs. Never the Bill Kristol types.
You could show them irrefutable evidence of a thing, and if it supports a more liberal point of view, they will claim "trickery". I'm not pyschiatrist, but that has to be the definition of clinical insanity.
Speaking of "jumping off the bandwagon" have you seen the pork in the Farm Subsidy Bill?
Not to intrude, but figured I'd post this because I found it interesting...
