Doug's peeing himself again I see. I know I can be a bit repetitive, but god damn.. every freaking day it's "Islamic boogeyman coming to get us and liberals will be sorry!!!1".

You know what? Doug has a very low opinion of the United States. This is the most powerful nation in this history of mankind, and if some lunatic Islamic freaks want to start a fight, it would be like flicking a fly off my arm. Doug thinks there's going to be a mass uprising of millions of hitherto unknown militant Muslims, laying in wait in cities throughout America, waiting for the secret signal to start the domestic Jihad. Yes Doug.. that's fucking nuts.

Here's the deal hoss. Getting "hit" (a very 24ish expression) again is inevitable I think. Every nation on this planet has had to deal with "terrorism" of one degree or another, but the United States had a great advantage of geography up until relatively recently.

The idea that being "on the offensive" is going to make one lick of difference to the odds of being "hit" again (god that's so manly an expression!) is... retarded. It all goes back to that "flypaper" theory. It goes like this.. because our military is in Iraq, all the terrorists are going to Iraq to fight the best trained and equipped military in the world.. as opposed to.. say.. getting on a boat and floating to Mexico and then crossing the border.. or merely getting a Visa and hopping on a plane to New York.

Hey dumbass.. Every single one of the 9/11 hijackers entered the United States legally.. you fucking moron.

These conservatives actually think that having our military in Iraq has something to do with terrorists not coming here. Can you believe that? Doug only makes that argument because he's hoping for the full-scale "holy war". I might add that Doug won't actually fight in that holy war, but he'll pound the shit out of his keyboard in support of it.

The ONLY way that terrorist plots can be foiled is through our law enforcement and intelligence services. I might add that both of those services get very little credit for the excellent job they have been doing (excepting the torturing part of course). Their job is to investigate and deter. We're going to suffer some sort of an attack again at some point - but that's the price we pay for having an open society. You suck it up and move on. There's just no way the investigators can be all knowing and all seeing. We just have to hope they deter as much as possible.

Meanwhile (and this is the part the loons leave out), we also have to work with other nations in the world to bring pressure to change the religiously motivated bat-shit craziness of the Islamic world. Secularism is the key for them as well.
