Just when you think

... they couldn't possibly be any more stupid.. My ex-favorite right wing loon, and his even more looney reader fail the reading comprehension test.

They insist that a politician may only be "impeached" for criminal violations of the law.. essentially pretending to not notice that one article of impeachment brought against Clinton was "abuse of power", which is obviously not a criminal activity. It was amusing to see Steve point that out..

What I really don't get is the stunning degree of ignorance on display. I realize it takes a giant leap of "faith" to believe, as the loon does, that humanity dates back 6000 years and evolution is a fraud, but it's quite another to simply disregard any direct and contradictory truths.

And it just gets even more amusing when they call people "idiots" for not being as fucking stupid as they are.

/update

I was just asking myself why I keep reading the blog of an outlier (extreme paranoia and denialist of simple facts), and then I just now read this from Atrios in response to a similar pundit.

Probably the most successful kind of internet troll, the kind of troll unaware that it is actually attempting to troll, is the truly stupid person. They attract an immense amount of attention, bringing out all of our inner teachers. We cannot believe they are actually that stupid. We believe that maybe, somehow, if we explain things to them very slowly they will actually have the capacity to learn. But they don't. They are giant honking ignoramuses who don't know anything about anything and likely never will.

Yet we can't resist them, because we are fascinated by their stupidity. Fascinated that they manage to be that profoundly dumb yet still manage to tie their shoes, string complete sentences together, etc.

Jonah's so stupid he has no idea how stupid he is. It'd be funnier if he wasn't one of the standard bearers of the dominant (if fast waning) political movement in this country.
And that pretty much explains it all.

Remember Rightwingguymn? He couldn't formulate a grammatically correct sentence and claimed a 140IQ. heh

Oh, man -- you're completely right. I visted your blog today from IB's, then linked to THAT PISTACHIO GUY who thinks he's speaking directly from the arms of Jesus -- so I found myself trying to call out some semblance of sense in the man -- then when I went back, I put all of this effort into teaching his reader basic junior high reading comprehension skills.

Ugghhh... I can't go back there. It upsets my stomach.

Political Pistachio has more sense in his little finger than in your entire body. Favorite Right wing loon? Then what am I, neurotic Tom? Oh and that truly stupid troll part seemed to be a perfect description of you. Well done.

I thought we left the "no, you are!" arguments in the grammar school playground...

This is exactly what Atrios' point was. Sky Dive Rick made no substantive argument at all. He did not address the central point that the right wing loon claimed that impeachments can only be brought for criminal activity. I showed that is not true and in fact that Republicans tried to impeach Clinton for "abuse of power".

And then I read a comment like that of Sky Dive Moron and I'm simply in awe at the level of "missing the point" on display.

That is the entirety of Doug's blog, over and over and over and why he banned me. He makes factually inaccurate assertions over and over and doesn't want anybody fact checking.

They really have no idea how stupid they are. It's amazing.
