Jaded

"This was an incredibly slow weekend. To have a top movie come in under $10 million just shows how the marketplace is in a holding pattern," said Paul Dergarabedian, president of box-office tracker Media By Numbers. "It'll all be made up next weekend with `Spider-Man 3.'"
They aren't in a "holding pattern". Movies have sucked.. royally.. and if Hollywood had a shred of talent, Spider-Man 3 would be an average movie, and not the savior of an industry running itself into the ground.

That idiot makes it sound as if the entire movie industry is going to get a piece of Spider-Man 3. How else to explain "all be made up", as if all the trash they keep shoveling on us will be fixed with one movie.

Am I jaded? Is it too much to ask for a 4 cool Sci-Fi movies a year? How about some fantasy movies? How about some quality comedies?

Did The Matrix make so much money that they don't want to ever try the genre again?

It's the same thing in the game industry. Nothing is interesting anymore. Nothing makes people stop and say "wow, cool".
