Last night was kind of rough. I kept waking up, and even drugged up it was pretty painful. There's a spot in my mouth that the intubation tube must have been pressing against that is sore.. and I'm still bleeding. The really bad thing about that is when I'm lying down/asleep the blood drains directly into my stomach and that's really nauseating. I'm also having a hell of a time urinating. I have to go but it takes some serious effort to get anything going. That must be a consequence of the anesthesia or something that is still lingering.
I slept about 12 hours total I guess and now I'm feeling quite a bit better. I'm still leaking blood, but it's draining into the bandage on my nose now instead of down my throat.. plus the drugs are working nicely to take the edge off the rawness of it all. As described in the wiki, Oxycodone is a potent and potentially addictive opioid analgesic medication synthesized from thebaine. I've got something like 65 of them.. woo!
The doctors and staff were really great. The anesthesiologist didn't even ask me to count backwards from 100. He got the IV in and said "we're going to relax you now", and asked me if I felt anything. I didn't for about 10 seconds, and then said "ohh.. i can feel it now... feels like a warming sensation going up my arm and.. " I was out like a light. Next thing I knew the nurse was waking me up. I think it was something like 2 hours after I was put under, but to me it seemed instantaneous.

Hi Tom - long time no see. I see you've undergone surgery. I hope all went well and you're back to abnormal :-) real soon! I like the new (to me anyway) blog title!
I'm sure you noticed that I pretty much abandoned Wild Sects but I hope to get another blog up and running real soon. The new title is Little Blue Orb. Sort of a play on the phrase it's a small world (no, not the Disney thing). I figure our planet is getting smaller all the time with communications and such so I wanted to play on that idea a little. I'll still focus on politics, humor, music and politics and since that's all a part of our world...

It's not me slacking.. John has some sort of issue with his scanner. I'll figure it out this weekend and get them posted up. I do have a couple of me just waking up from surgery but I look horrible and stoned out of my mind.
This has not been a fun recovery.. except when I load up on the drugs..
Oh.. and Wildsects John.. glad to see you're getting back into it. I'll be sure and check it out.
