SAN FRANCISCO - Mayor Gavin Newsom said Monday that he plans to seek counseling for alcohol use, following the disclosure that he had an affair with the wife of a veteran aide.What is the deal with everyone blaming doing really stupid shit on alcohol? Was he drunk every time he banged her?
Newsom, 39, said that although "my problems with alcohol are not an excuse for my personal lapses in judgment," he had stopped drinking and wanted professional help staying sober.
"Upon reflection with friends and family this weekend, I have come to the conclusion that I will be a better person without alcohol in my life," Newsom said in a statement.
Has Mark Foley finished his "recovery" stint? How about Ted Haggard?
Want to know how the whole thing unraveled on Newsom? The woman he had an affair with was going through AA, and 9th stepped her way right over to her husband and told him about the affair - and he flipped out.
How much you want to bet this NASA astronaut is going to be begging for some "treatment" real damn soon...
