I need to see an ENT (ear - nose - throat) specialist, so I'm on my insurance plan's web site looking at a list of providers. I have to pick one out of the blue.
Here's some names;
Mehendale, Neelesh H., MD
Chamblee, Socorro A., MD
Skiles, Roger G., MD
Champion, Gretchen A., MD
Ragsdale, Richard L., DO
Peskind, Steven P., MD
Roberts, Gregory D., MD
Rossi, Renee M., MD
Lam, Samuel Mo-Kiu, MD
Tseng, Ewen Yi-wuen, MD
Frank, Thomas Christopher, MD
Now.. I'm thinking. Do I want Apu from the Quickie Mart? Do I want Wang Chung? Do I want a woman?
no no no.. I'm looking at the list trying to find a 45 year old white male American. I don't want a 30 year old (inexperienced), or a 60 year old (out of touch with new research), and I don't want somebody trained at Bhopal University, or an emotional woman. Preferrably, he'd be cute, but that would be just a bonus.
I think Frank, Thomas Christopher, MD is going to be the winner.
So really.. I'm waaay liberal and I pick a doc by the name. Is that wrong?
/update

Holy fuck the internet is amazing. That's Skiles, Roger G., MD.. he fits all the criteria except the cute part, but I can live without that. I also read reviews of him on the net (high marks), and he's nearby.

Well, shit.. I have to see my PCP to get a referral to see an ENT.. I called up his office, and they tried to tell me that since I haven't seen him in like 2 years, I'd have to wait until April to be seen. Disagreement followed. It's odd they'd do that just because I'm usually very healthy and rarely have to see a doctor.
Anyway.. my appointment is at 9:45 tomorrow.. just so I can get a referral to see an ENT. Gawd.. Oh.. and my PCP is gay (friend of a friend - not cute).. and it sounds like he hired Harvey Firestein as his front office staff.
