I think the american public is starting to realize that even politicians are human and that stupid shit that gets dug up isn't as big a deal anymore.
It's when you say, "uh, no that wasn't me." Or some other contradictory view that evidence later proves that gets you in trouble.
I've thought about getting into politics, but the pidly local crap just isn't all that interesting, takes a fuck load of your time, and doesn't pay well enough to call a "full time" gig. But that's where ya gotta start most the time, unless you've got connections and/or money. Well that and the fact that I'm a horrible public speaker, and can't formulate coherent thoughts 9 times out of 10. :)
