MSM Blogs

Blogging has become a huge phenomenon. It had a great deal to do with the Democratic take-over of Congress, and will continue to expand it's influence. The "mainstream media" realizes this. To them, it's not about politics. It's a business. It's money. They're dying a slow and inevitable death for the same reason I think the music industry and Hollywood will die. The medium has expanded to include people with real talent who produce for free, all using the internet and the new tools to deliver what people are interested in.

So.. what does the MSM do? They start moving on-line and into blogging to try and -pre-empt the amature bloggers. Time has put several high profile "journalists" into blogging, and it includes comments. That's hilarious. The explosion is just beginning.. because we've known for ages that the MSM employs the same percentage of complete fucking morons as any other industry, but now we get to comment directly on their reporting, and it isn't pretty.

Amazingly, some Swampland readers seem to think my earlier post about President Bush's State of the Union address was too sympathetic to Bush, which proves nothing but that the left is as full of unthinking Ditto-heads as Limbaugh-land.

Of course, the "ditto heads" are factually accurate. They post comments with stuff like.. real polling data.. and real facts.. and Time's Washington bureau chief flips out and compares them to right wing loons.

No, this is not a matter of perspective. It's a matter of being factually accurate, and now that the MSM is being forced into our sandbox, they are getting their asses handed to them and they don't like it.

This is going to become a very big deal over the next 5 years. The MSM will not die quietly. When the method you pay your mortgage is threatened by people who do the same thing, but better, for free, you'll loose your fucking mind... and they will.
