For instance, I've seen those job postings in my email, and I usually fall mid-range in the salary scale. As a sub-contractor to the government, we should be making more than full time fed employees in order to offset the federal benefits. Otherwise, I should just be working for the fed.
When my review comes up in February, I'll dig up stats on the salaries of senior engineers, and find the most favorable that shows I'm underpaid. I'll compile lots of evidence that I'm underpaid, treating it exactly as I would a political argument. I can do that. Also - they keep telling me the greatest thing since sliced bread, so I should be at the upper range of the scale.
It's not like I'm really underpaid, it's more of the challenge of it...
