What to be afraid of

Like I've said many times.. I'm not afraid of many things, certainly not terrorism. But, this is something everyone should be afraid of.

What a really good story. My mom was a nurse her whole life, and my sister is a nurse.

Mom started out as an ER nurse, then went into OB/GYN, to bring life into the world...babies. Mom had lots of stories about being with patients when they died. Sister does plastic surgery, and nipple tattos!

I have never been with a human being when they passed out of this world, but I'm sure I will sooner or later. I have only been with one of my dogs, when they died in my arms, by an overdose....ordered by me.

I hope I am surrounded by friends, family and loved ones when it is my time to go.....but we almost never get to plan when and where it's our time to go.

I have always respected the nursing field for what they do with people everyday. I guess that is why I really like watching ER!

My mom, grandfather, grandmother were not alone in the room when they went. Mom died with her roomate and nurses aide in the room. Grandma died with Aunt KayKay in the room. Granpda died with his nurse in the room.

Mom's nurses aide was just incredible! It's been over 5 years, and now I don't even remember her name....but she was a true angel. So was the hospice nurse, and the hospice sitters.

We don't realize it, but hospice workers seem to be with the majority of ill people when they die. These are really special people.
