Sad news

One of my Warcraft guild-mates took his own life this week. He was not a "real life" friend of mine, but an on-line one, in a game. However he was a long-time friend of several other's in my guild, one of which found him after he passed.

The net-term for people who are overly emotional.. is "emo" logically enough. Well, this friend was not emo in any way. He seemed quite like most of the other people in the guild, just having some fun in a game... then all of a sudden, we find out he's gone, and being this is a rather new level of friendship, it's hard to know how to react. I've never met him, don't know what he looks like, but I spent a whole bunch of hours playing the game with him and chatting and all that.

In my mind, this is what he looked like;

And I know that's kind of strange, but it still doesn't change the fact that a young man just decided he didn't want to be around anymore, and there was nothing any of us could have done, or could even have known he was feeling that way.

It just doesn't make any sense. As bad as anything can be, down the road life may be completely different. If a person just could just hang in there, it would turn around. Now, there's no way of knowing what might have happened for him.

I am truly saddened every time anyone dies before their time, regardless of the how's and why's.
