One thing leads to another

Ohhhh.. a big take down..

WASHINGTON - Seven young men arrested in an alleged plot against the Sears Tower were part of a group of "homegrown terrorists" who sought to work with al-Qaida but ended up conspiring with an informant, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales said Friday.

Outlining an alleged plot to bomb the Sears Tower in Chicago and a federal building in Miami, Gonzales told a Justice Department news conference: "They were persons who for whatever reason came to view their home country as the enemy."

The seven individuals — ranging in age from 22 to 32 — were indicted by a federal grand jury in Miami. Six were taken into custody in Miami Thursday when authorities swarmed a warehouse in the Liberty City area, removing a metal door with a blow torch. A seventh was arrested in Atlanta.
These guys are the keystone cops of terrorists. They aren't hard core Islamic jihadists. They are simply weak minded wannabies, trying to play like the big boys, and the law enforcement caught them. Good job from the F.B.I.

Still, it's reactionary law enforcement. No doubt there's whole lot of other young Muslims with permeable minds and low self-esteem that could easily take their place in incompetent terrorism attempts. Law enforcement doesn't address the cause, and I really don't know why people aren't trying to address that much more forcefully.

Interesting quote from the story;

Residents living near the warehouse said the men taken into custody described themselves as Muslims and had tried to recruit young people to join their group. Tashawn Rose, 29, said they tried to recruit her younger brother and nephew for a karate class.

She said she talked to one of the men about a month ago. "They seemed brainwashed," she said. "They said they had given their lives to Allah."
Yep.. it's all about religion again, which is about power, and from power comes money. That's all it is. When you look at why 19 hijackers flew planes into the WTC, the root cause is financial.

But I'm telling you right now, there is no such thing as the "right" religion, and the "wrong" religion. The separation between fundamentalist Islam and fundamentalist Christianity is a small degree of separation. If the American Christians were dirt poor, they would be strapping on bomb belts and blowing up the "infidels".

"They seemed brainwashed" is not the unique province of the Islamic world. It exists right here, right next door to where I live. The same preachers that stoke violent fires in young Muslims do it for the same reason the Christians preachers stoke the fires in their masses.. because they need a fucking BMW.

People die every single day for that. They don't give a flying fuck about your soul. They don't care about God. They care about the fundamentals of human nature - they desire power, money, and to fuck what they want to fuck. We see, time and again, the sheep that line-up for the mind slaughter who willingly, as if they need it to survive, give up their own rational mind and turn the control over to a charismatic leader who fills the void that they lack in themselves.

So, long story short, kudos to the F.B.I. for catching some religious nuts, hell bent on destruction. But, in order to solve the long term problem, and the root cause of all this violence, we need a new governmental agency that puts an end to organized religion, period.

After all, it's not just the crazy people killing the crazy people. They'll kill whoever they're told to kill.
