Quote of the Day

He had a chance to tell the president and much of important (and self-important) Washington things it would have been good for them to hear. But he was, like much of the blogosphere itself, telling like-minded people what they already know and alienating all the others. In this sense, he was a man for our times. - Richard Cohen in the WaPo
He's commenting on Stephen Colbert's performance at the annual press club event. You can watch it here: Colbert does his Bill O'Reiley routine and basically tells everyone in the room they're a bunch of morons and lap dogs. It's really great, watch it.

Cohen seems to think it wasn't funny. Well, much of it wasn't, but what Colbert did was push the shit right up under their noses and made them get a real good whif of it... all with Chimpy mere feet away and unable to move.

I wrote Chohen a little letter;

Of course you didn't think it was funny. You're one of the idiots that Colbert is talking about.
And yes, most left wing bloggers know we're preaching to the choir. We really don't give a flying fuck who gets alienated. People who are alienated that easily are too stupid to get the point in the first place, so why should we waste time and energy on them?

And I'm talking about the people that voted for Bush - the 2nd time.
