Economics - Freakonomics

What they were all responding to was the force of Levitt's underlying belief: that the modern world, despite a surfeit of obfuscation, complication, and downright deceit, is not impenetrable, is not unknowable, and-if the right questions are asked-is even more intriguing than we think. All it takes is a new way of looking.

I'm always facinated by people who look at mundane things in a different, more interesting way.

I have a feeling this book would be a facinating read.

John will particularly like this passage on real-estate.

This one is good too..

Tom,

I love it......an article comparing real estate agents to the Ku Klux Klan. There are many of them that seem to belong to some strange cult!

I really liked the "code words" for advertising. So true, so true! I could write a book about the "translations".

An example....."lovingly maintained by original owner". Let's see, it was built in 1975, you can expect to see orange shag carpet that smells & foil wallpapers. As I like to teach my clients to say "Oh, grandma!"

I guess that is why I like selling foreclosure houses. I say "property needs repair/rehab, priced accordingly".....all that means is please bring your contractor with you when you see the house!
