NEW YORK - Robert Novak, whose revelation of a CIA officer's name in a 2003 column has sparked a federal probe, was suspended by CNN after he swore and walked off the set during a live telecast of "Inside Politics."Family Values, Bitches!
CNN correspondent Ed Henry said afterward that he had been about to ask Novak about his role in the investigation of the leak of Valerie Plame's identity, which Novak has repeatedly refused to comment on aside from some references in his column.
Carville, addressing the camera, said: "He's got to show these right wingers that he's got a backbone, you know. It's why The Wall Street Journal editorial page is watching you. Show 'em that you're tough."
"Well, I think that's bullshit and I hate that," Novak replied. "Just let it go."
I saw the video of the episode.. it's great. Carville had Novack fuming, and he just got up, swore, and stormed off....
For some reason, the MSM had been giving Novack far too kind of treatment then he deserved. I think now you'll see them feast on his entrails. Carville must have totally loved that. It was great.
But, of course, the larger story is that Robert Novack is not in jail, ala Judith Miller. Novack must have rolled on Rove, and it seems tempers are getting a bit short and nerves are fraying.
Oh.. and Chimpy's approval rating in Iraq just dropped below 40 to 38%. The wheels are coming off....
** update **
Speculation in the blog-o-sphere is that Novack is going to end up at Fox (assuming he doesn't end up in jail). Wouldn't that be great? Add yet another wing-nut to Faux news. Love it..
