Song of the Day

As Ken pointed out, the song I posted yesterday is a remake of the original Tears for Fears recording. I'll post their version. Compare and contrast. Which is better?

I think the original is a little "pop-ish", and the remake has a lot of soul and emotion in it.

Anyway.. Mad World from Tears for Fears..

** update **

The more I listen to the Tears for Fears version, the more it's growing on me. I really dig the bridge at the 2:25 mark.

** update 2 **

And what kind of music do the "conservatives" write?

"I RAQ AND ROLL"

Words and Music by Clint Black and Hayden Nicholas

YOU CAN WAVE YOUR SIGNS IN PROTEST
AGAINST AMERICA TAKING STANDS

THE STANDS AMERICA'S TAKEN
ARE THE REASON THAT YOU CAN

IF EVERYONE WOULD GO FOR PEACE
THERE'D BE NO NEED FOR WAR
BUT WE CAN'T IGNORE THE DEVIL
HE'LL KEEP COMING BACK FOR MORE

SOME SEE THIS IN BLACK AND WHITE
OTHERS ONLY GRAY
I saw that over at Americablog today. John does a nice job of pointing out the absurdities and contradictions.

Those that see things in black and white have somehow managed to shut of the reasoning portion of their brain. Everything is a shade of gray.

Tomorrow I'm going to write more about the artistic differences between liberals and conservatives. The short of it is, in a single moment we could lose every artistic creation of all the "conservatives" of the 20'th and 21st centuries and no one would notice.

I guess I don't need to write the long version now. We'll see..
