I'm feeling bettah

I feel better today, but I'm still not in the mood for rampant posting.

It seems that Chimpy is headed out to California to try and make the Iraq war seem like WWII. I suppose the comparison would be valid if Germany hadn't invaded Poland, Russia, France and attacked England... and if Japan hadn't attacked Pearl Harbor. If that were true, then Iraq would be exactly the same!

It's weird the way people look back on past wars with some morbid sense of nostalgia, or reverence. While some wars may be inevitable, they aren't something to envy. It's mass killing - and wars are simply a failure of humanity. Those that served should be proud, but I don't think it should be looked on with envy.

In other news... it seems the hurricane was incredibly damaging - kind of like electing George Bush. This bit from Americablog got my attention:

The Red Cross has indicated its response will be the largest in its history. So how many National Guard and military troops will Bush send to help save these people? Well, in 1992 his father sent over 30,000 troops to Florida after Andrew, in addition to over 6,000 National Guard activated by the state.

According to today's Chicago Tribune, Louisiana has activated 3,500 National Guardsmen.
36,000 versus 3,500. Somebody tell me again how it is that George Bush is not actively working to try and damage this country as much as possible, short of launching nukes at our own cities?

It's unfortunate we're stuck with him. I think he deserves to be impeached and removed from office, but then we'd have Cheney running the show, and I certainly don't want that. It would suck to even look at a history book and see Cheney's name as a President.

So the solution is? Don't let Bush set any policy, pass any legislation, or nominate any judges. He should only be allowed to receive foreign dignitaries, and take them out to play golf.

Now watch this drive...
