USA Today has a story on it, here:
What amuses me is the arrogance of the MSM.
Tom Rosenstiel of the Project for Excellence in Journalism says that it will be up to "traditional media with the largest resources to knock down bad stuff that the bloggers put out" about whomever Bush nominates. What the fuck does that mean? Knock down bad stuff?
How lovely that the representative of the "traditional media" uses such oblique language in describing how they will correct the inevitable "bad stuff", whatever that is, from bloggers.
The truth of the matter is that the MSM is increasingly irrelevant. Bloggers are in the drivers seat now, and the MSM is reacting to what's hot in the blogs - not the other way around.
For better or worse, conservative bloggers beat Dan Rather's ass into a shamed retirement. Liberal bloggers have their share of trophy heads too. But, thank god we have traditional media, who never-ever lies or distorts or is guilty of plain ol' incompetence.
