Give me an A

Texas is bizarre...

AUSTIN, United States (AFP) - Legislators in Texas, famed for its Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders, considered legislation to ban 'sexually suggestive' performances in schools.

The law would ban dance routines by school cheerleaders at sports events that one politician said was like something out of a strip club.

Exposed midriffs and ever shorter shorts and skirts have particularly outraged some legislators.
Naturally the ACLU asks the obvious question:

"Without a specific definition of what these kids cannot perform, the sky is the limit," the ACLU warned. "Any complaintant can construe any dance step, cheer or movement of any sort as sexually suggestive."
Yep.. it's obvious this is more of that good ol' Texas family values legislation. To hell with the serious problems in this backwater state. We need to stop them kids from bumpin' and grindin'!

But.. as well all know.. what Texas men really want is more skimpy outfits and more suggestive performances. It adds spice to the violence on the field..

One of the co-authors of the bill, Republican Corbin Van Arsdale, said many parents want restrictions because they go to Friday night games to see young men clashing on the football field, not girls shaking their behinds on the sidelines.

"You've got children seeing things that their parents would rather them not see," said Van Arsdale.
That's so funny. We came here to see young men beat the snot out each other on the football field, not see some sexy young ladies!

Before I moved to Texas, I used to officiate high school football in Phoenix. It was a lot of fun. But - your average high school football parent is mostly likely insane. It was even worse doing the Pop Warner youth football games. The parents are crazy. I quit doing the Pop Warner games because of the parents. We're talking kids 10 to 14 years old, and the behavior was simply bizarre.

Some coaches and parents had the right attitude. They understood the concept of sport and fair play, but most were just assholes. I'd bet a month's wages that the temperamental assholes are registered Republican's, and the parents that just cheered the kids on, win or lose, were liberal Democrats.

It's interesting looking back on life experiences that way and seeing how personality types fit so well with certain political categories.. Stereotypes sometimes are accurate. Like Oxen for instance.. dumb as a doorknob.. hate filled.. paranoid.. violent.. he'd be the parent that dresses down his kid for missing a tackle, and scream at the officials while chugging down a beer. He's not "in the game", but he knows all about it. Just like he knows all about war on Muslims, but he's not in the game there either.

Just goes to show you that in Texas, it's not just the Republican's that are bat-shit crazy.. It's passed the state house..

"Girls can get out and do all of these overly sexually performances and we applaud them, and that's not right," said Democratic Rep. Al Edwards, who filed the legislation.

Edwards argued bawdy performances are a distraction for students resulting in pregnancies, dropouts and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases.
Who knew that it was the cheerleaders fault all along!

And as they point out over at Corrente - if you're the first lady, it's okay to joke about the President of the United States masturbating a horse..

I saw my in-laws down at the ranch over Easter. We like it down there. George didn't know much about ranches when we bought the place. Andover and Yale don't have a real strong ranching program. But I'm proud of George. He's learned a lot about ranching since that first year when he tried to milk the horse. What's worse, it was a male horse.
What will we tell the children? OMG they are going to start humping each other and spreading diseases!
