Quote of the Day II

The only way these loons won't whine about being discriminated against is when everyone in the world is exactly like them - because everyone who isn't has been stoned to death, in approved Old Testament fashion. - Lambert over at Corrente
And that is essentially the way the BSC's are worming their way in. Face facts - the Christian leaders are evil. They really have convinced their followers that they are "under attack" merely for their religious beliefs. While nothing in secular American has changed in many years, they keep pounding that lie into their followers, and the followers start to believe it. Then it becomes "conventional wisdom" to them that the world is arrayed against their beliefs.

It really is not a hard concept to grasp. I want the Christian freaks to stay the fuck away from me. I don't want their crazy superstitions thrown in my face all the time. I don't want public policy set by their hysterical screed. I don't want to see them on tv any more. I don't want their fliers on my door any more. I don't want them to bang on my door to ask me if Jesus Christ is my personal savior any more. I don't want them asking me for money any more. I don't want this looney toons I work with to end each sentence with "god willing" any more because it's creeping me the fuck out.

From that same post, and more on the Air Force Academy scandal:

An Air Force Academy chaplain urged cadets during basic training last year to warn fellow cadets that those not "born again will burn in the fires of hell," according to a Yale University Divinity School report.
Holy crap.. this is a United States military academy!

And that is how religion works. They scare people into believing their bullshit.

I've said it many times. I used to feel sorry for them because they're obviously too stupid to understand what the hell is going on. I looked at them the same way as I do a kid with Downs, meaning - I feel really bad for them but understand they didn't have much of a choice in the way they turned out. Now it's like the kid with Downs is coming after me with a really scary look in his eye.
