One wee problem.. all 3 have denied it:
In fact, one of them wrote Cornyn and asked him to stop lying...
This is a carefully structured misrepresentation which does seem to get repeated. Attached is a memo I have written to Boyden Gray and Senator Cornyn, the two that I know have been misrepresenting my views. They know no shame, do they? These are supposed to be our leaders, yet they go around threatening judges and lying their asses off.
Bloch's March 14th reply memo to Gray states the following:
You have seriously misrepresented my views. In a February 28, 2005 memo to journalists on behalf of the Committee for Justice, you argue that the Senate's use of the filibuster against judicial nominations is unconstitutional. In so doing, you suggest I said such use is unconstitutional. In fact, I have never said such a thing. On the contrary, in the article you quote (but never cite), I said precisely the opposite, explicitly distinguishing the Senate filibuster from the House Rule thater, I was criticizing.
Oh.. and some seriously tweaked freepers buy into the "dems rewriting the Consitution" bullshit. You know what? Tough tacos.. You can suck it.. Once the Dem's win the house in '06, Bush isn't getting shit for the next 2 years. Then we'll get a Dem President.. We just need Chimpy's approval rating to keep sinking. 45% and dropping fast. I figure once it hits 20%, the media will stop calling him "widely popular".
Then, Hillary in '08, and maybe even the Senate (a guy can dream). We just need to make sure that Rehnquist doesn't croak before then. How much you want to bet that the Repugs will want to yank his tube the first moment nobody is looking?
