The History Channel is running a series of programs on President Roosevelt called FDR: A Presidency Revealed. It's very good - highly recommended viewing.
America has a wonderful tradition of electing very thoughtful and imaginative Presidents. It is quite clear that Roosevelt and Winston Churchill were ultimately responsible for the freedoms we take for granted today.
It seems the world is so much different today. The Brits seem to be keeping up their end of the bargain. Tony Blair may not have the aura of a Churchill, but he is quite sophisticated. We have C+ Augustus.
I hope I'm alive 50 years from now to watch G Dubya: A Chimpanzee Revealed.
