Tree Huggers

So, if you're a right wing conservative, and your position is complete bullshit, how do you get the masses to despise the other side? You throw some more of that Hermann Goering style "treason" around.

Jim Gibbons, Republican Congressman from Nevada sez..

"I say we tell those liberal, tree-hugging, Birkenstock-wearing, hippie, tie-dyed liberals to go make their movies and their music and whine somewhere else," Gibbons said to another burst of applause.
...

He said that they are the same people who wanted to go to Iraq and become human shields for the enemy.

"I say it's just too damn bad we didn't buy them a ticket," Gibbons said.

Laughter rippled through the room, mingled with more applause.
What do you want to bet that the average I.Q. of the audience is about 92? The bigger issue is why a United States Congressman's comment wishing violence on other American's is not a big deal, covered by the mainstream media, resulting in censure or expulsion from Congress?

Somebody put me in charge of the New York Times please! The head line would read:

Congressman wishes violence on liberals.

By the way, the body count in Iraq has passed 1500 Americans. Do you feel safer? I'll bet the kids, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, who come home in the coffins don't feel safer.

"What greater love has man than he lays down his life for his friend - or in this case, his country," Gibbons said in conclusion.
Indeed. The position of the left is that every single justification for the war turned out to be utter bullshit. There were no WMD's. There was no connection to Al-Quaida. There was no connection to 9/11. The end result? These American's that laid down their lives did it for what? For the Iraqi people's liberation? In the best case scenario these soldiers died for Iraq, not for their own country. That is the horror of this war, and that's why Republican's like Gibson are traitors to our military.
