Student Fascists

Cultural revolution? More like culture war.

Click here for a concise accounting of the similarities between the current conservative attacks on our culture, and other fascist/communists regimes. It's absolutely stunning, and far far more pervasive than I thought.

Here's one of my favorites;

Posters arose recently on the Ball State University campus announcing that history professor Abel Alves was "WANTED." His alleged offenses include indoctrinating freshmen with liberal books, such as Fast Food Nation, and guest lectures by the Humane Society.
The BSC's are attacking our institutions of higher learning because they consider it the biggest threat to their power base. Generally, universities are where you find ideas and thought, rationally discussed and ideologies established. I learned a lot in University that didn't have much to do with math and physics even though I took a lot of math and physics classes.

What I learned was rational, thoughtful, empirical evaluation of complex systems. That's why I can do the job I have today. That's what the BSC's are so threatened by because their power structure crumbles under the weight of rational discourse.

Compare the liberal reaction to contrary views. We observe, listen, rebut, then dismiss the hypotheses if it's invalid. Maybe we'll change our mind if reasonable. We do not attack the messenger as a threat to our belief system and seek to have them forever barred from further discussion.

BSC's (reminder that's bat-shit-crazy conservative evangelical Christians) must know deep down that their point of view is irrational and seek to limit any additional discourse that would challenge it. They just want to bury their head in the sand.

Truly, it is a fascist cause to attack university professors who attempt to engage in discourse designed to open people's minds and encourage rational thought. That's the most important job of a University.

If a BSC wants to have an education that does not threaten their belief system in any way, they should go to Oral Roberts University. If they want an education that teaches them to think rationally, they should attend the most liberal school they can find. There you can yell, scream, taunt, argue, get pissed off, whatever emotion you want. What you don't get is to silence the person or their ideas.

Here's an idea.. Lets take all the BSC's and give them their own state. I think Utah will work since most of them wouldn't have to actually move. Could you imagine how fantastically funny it would be to watch them turn on each other as each alpha-BSC locks in mortal combat with the other in an attempt to establish control?

^^^ that was a joke.. sort of..
