Post Superbowl

First of all, the opening ceremony was fantastic. It was so great to see the NFL honor the veterans of WWII on the 60th anniversary of the conclusion of the war. The choral group from the military academies sounded great.

I'm writing this just before kick off. It's exciting. I may just write some things as we go along..

Kick off.. and the Eagles start with great field position. OMG fumble! Damn! They CANNOT do that and win the game! Wait a sec.. a challenge.. oh yes.. video shows his knee was down. That's totally the responsibility of the referee to see.. gah.. but they are showing commercials during the challenge review. They didn't do that during the regular season. But the commercial is for a new Keanu Reeves movie called Constantine. It looks really good.. ya ya.. trailers.. I know.. :) Eagles keep the ball.. whew..

Quite a defensive battle so far.. as I thought it would be. Did you bet the under?

Big pickup for Terrel Owens (I don't like him - showboat), and a cheap penalty. They officials really did miss the pick from the other receiver. Rough start for the zebras. Then McNabb gets sacked big time. Interception! A defensive penalty and no interception.

Oh boy.. they're remaking the Longest Yard.. with Adam Sandler. That sounds good. Bet it's going to be really funny.

Dumbest commercial.. McDonald's Abe Lincoln french fries.. They spend all that money for advertising and that's the best they can do?

Interception! Okay.. that was the worst pass I've seen in a football game in forever. He just floated it out there.. Geez..

Fumble.. good gravy..

End of the 1st quarter, no score. It's a good game so far, but more passing than I thought we'd see in the first quarter. Boy.. Troy Aikman was a great football player, and he's at least as good as a commentator.

Touchdown! Eagles 7 to zip..

End of the first half, 7 to 7.

Paul McCartney was the perfect choice for the half time show. How odd that having a revered Brit preform is sooo much better than some insipid American, like a Janet Jackson, or Britney Spears. The song choices were terrific. I found it interesting the way a cherished musician was presented in a uniquely American way, with all the lighting and fireworks and such. Somehow it worked. It's just so sad that John and George are no longer with us. Imagine the Beatles performing today. Imagine the songs John would be writing. Well, go listen to Imagine. The whole thing was an unmitigated success..

Uh oh.. quick TD by New England. Philly can't let the gap get any wider. The Pats defense is just too good.

Philly Touch Down! Tie game.. pretty exciting stuff..

It's starting to look like New England is begining to over power Philly..

Okay.. I like the monkey commercials... anything with monkies is good..

McNabb intercepted. That could be the game. Winding down the game, McNabb is showing that he's not the type of quarterback people will remember.

Wow.. Eagles touchdown. On-side kick now? I guess they have to. Shoot, recovered by the Pats. It doesn't look good.

Well, the game is over, and my pic lost. The good news is that the Eagles covered the spread, and the over/under was under. So if you bet your house on my reccomendations, you owe me some money.. :)

The game was great, and the Patriots really proved to be the more complete team.

Very entertaining Superbowl recap! I almost thought I had the game guessed at a 17 pt. lead for a while near the end...but..ahh yes, I am just a chick!

On to the commercials...the monkeys were superb...especially poking up and down from their cublicles. Also enjoyed the Bud skydiving one as well as the Fed Ex with Bert Reynolds and the dancing/talking bear.

It seemed unusually tainted with movie trailers this year...but the amount of remake movies are unbelievable. Longest Yard, War of the Worlds...hmmm...lets get creative movie moguls!

Lastly...Never was a super Beatles fan, but the performance by Paul was well worth it. Especially enjoyed the Live and Let Die tune. Have memories of seeing that particular Bond in my teens at a midnight flick...sat thru it twice as a matter of fact.

Noticed that your "broadcasting" skills for this play by play are almost as decent as Troy's...but with a ...whew...and a ...Geez...what was missing was a...
Sheesh...!!!
