A little more detailed background on me. The work I do supports the Veterans Health Administration clinical systems. I specialize in the surgical module. What I, and others on my team, do directly impacts the care provided to veterans. We're focused on helping the physicians provide the highest level of care, and helping the business office of VA hospitals collect revenue in order to do things like buy advanced diagnostic equipment.
The thing I can't stand is hypocrisy. It is the most contemptible of traits.
When I read comments, and rantings, from right wingers (freeper types) who have never served in the military, much less seen combat, going on and on about how the Iraq war was the right thing to do, it just disgusts me. They offer nothing but an opinion, making them nothing but useless people. They are the cheerleaders on the sideline who have never been in the game to take the hit.
They are cowards - and they are not worth the time to pay any attention to. Period.
Now, if a Veteran or active duty military wants to tell me I'm full of shit, then I have to respect that. The way this country seems to not give a damn, listening to a vet is the least anyone can do.

Ah.. now we're on to Fahrenheit 9/11. I'm going to post on the main page about how quite a few people have a very flawed system of logic. But, in short - what was inaccurate in the documentary? Deceit? You mean something factually accurate, but out of context perhaps?
If you want to see freepers go bat shit crazy because Mel Gibson actually likes F 9/11, check here.
The thing is, there will always be soldiers who will support the administration that sends them to war. Is that kid in the hospital saying those things because he understands and supports the geo-politics of why he was in Iraq? Or, do you think that maybe he wants to get back because of his buddies, and because of his sense of duty?
I've never served in the military either, but much anecdotal information points to soldiers doing what they do because of the man next to them, not because of politics. It's only after the fighting is done that a person can think about the why's of a situation.
Lets put it this way - ask a Vietnam veteran if he still believes in the politics of the war he fought in. I suspect that in 30 years, if you ask these men and women in Iraq that question, you'll get the same answer.
It's obvious you feel very strongly about supporting the Iraq war. I really think you ought to sign up, and ask for infantry duty. But, before you go, I will point you to some photographs that will make you weep. Still, I'd expect you'll want to go anyway, and be willing to be the subject of one of those photographs. Otherwise, how could you support sending very young men and women instead of you?
The thing I'd want to know is, why? Why would you throw your life away for Iraq? Because as sure as you would be willing to die, your mere support for the war means you're willing to have other soldiers die in your name. Again, why?
Out of the two of us, I think the only one actually doing something for the soldiers - is me. So, yes, all you have are opinions. You are useless.
Now, watch this drive....
