Week 2

Not much to be said. The Cowboys played like the Cowboys and lost.

Miles Austin was fantastic. Doug Free's name wasn't mentioned at all - which is always good for an offensive lineman.

The rest.. was the rest. Bad coaching. Bad play calling (a pooch kick.. really?).. horrible mental errors... thug-like behavior resulting in penalties.. bad kicking.

At this point, you let it play out but in the NFL, steady and smart play beats pure athleticism every time. The Cowboys are going to need a new coaching staff, and they're going to need to get rid of players who are physical freaks of nature, but aren't smart enough to.. say.. not block somebody in the back on a kick off return, or false start over and over, etc.

You can see the potential they have.. the pass rush.. the explosive offense. Being stupid on both sides of the ball erases every good thing they do.

And by "new coaching staff", I mean that Wade Phillips and Jason Garret need to go. Some of the other coaches aren't too bad.. especially the special teams coach. He really turned that squad around last year.

Next up is Houston. They're no longer the doormats of the NFL. If the Cowboys want to make the playoffs, the need to string together a lot of wins.

"We've had some communication errors out there," safety Gerald Sensabaugh said. "Guys thought we were in one coverage and we weren't."

If I were the owner.. I would be livid that some players didn't know what they were doing. That's on the coaches. They need to be fired. This isn't high school ball. It's the NFL.
