Anyway, a lot of the background on Rand is so bizarre and out there that it almost can't affect him anymore -- it seems like the people who are determined to vote for him will do so even if he comes out tomorrow and says he's for forced segregation of straight and lesbian aliens on the planet Saturn.

That's one definition of The Loon Brigade. They are so crazy, that being crazy is not a deterrent to.. just about anything. In fact, being crazy is a virtue because it rallies the crazy crowd to their side.

Not a single sane person could be a "tea bagger".

Doug Gibbs claimed that HIV was grown in a government lab. He's running for Murietta City Council. The list of Doug's crazy is long.. and there is absolutely nothing that he could say that would change people's opinion of him.. simply because Loon Brigade politics is more religion than politics, and because religion requires no reason (in fact, religion is anti-reason), there's nothing these freaks can do or say that will affect their standing in the tea bagging movement.

Same is true for Rand Paul, and Christine O’Donnell.

I do like how the reporter referred to her completely making up her academic background as "fudged", rather than garden variety lying.

Those of us who might have expected Paul's purist followers to abandon him in droves have been disappointed; Paul is now the clear favorite to win in November. Ha, ha, you thought we actually gave a shit about spending, joke's on you. That's because the Tea Party doesn't really care about issues — it's about something deep down and psychological, something that can't be answered by political compromise or fundamental changes in policy. At root, the Tea Party is nothing more than a them-versus-us thing. They know who they are, and they know who we are ("radical leftists" is the term they prefer), and they're coming for us on Election Day, no matter what we do — and, it would seem, no matter what their own leaders like Rand Paul do.

There is nothing that can be done about that. The screaming hysterics about "communism" and "marxism" will never.. ever.. stop. There can never be any rational liberal policy in government... ever.

Now is the time for these people to completely take over the government of the United States. I do have some sympathy for the coming pain and misery - but I'm warning you now.. it's coming. You.. as an individual, living and working in the United States can profit from this. Just assume the worst.

There is a small sliver of a chance that they will get rebuffed at the polls in a few weeks, by a nation that has decided that it was a cute diversion, but cat food in the park is not an attractive retirement proposal. There might be an electoral surprise coming.

I guess we shall see..
