Sad

Since I really don't have a stake in the outcome of pretty much anything that happens in D.C., I don't really care if Democrats win elections when they just suck. Enthusiasm was so 2008, and now that Bush is gone, not many people give a fuck.

It is quite possible that Democrats will lose a lot of elections in next year's mid-terms. The only thing that bothers me about that is that the Loon Brigade will think it's a ringing endorsement of the "conservative" agenda. In reality, from Democrats it'll be a disgust with their own party, and with independents, it'll be disgust with Washington in general.

Some people forget that we elected a black guy with a very Liberal agenda to be President.. and in a land-slide. When given super-majorities in Congress to go with it, the Democrats piss it all away. What do they think is going to happen when the feel-good bubble bursts?

I know I'm supposed to be concerned about the Americans who would benefit from the hopey-changey bullshit. I suppose I am, but even in the internet age, where information is everywhere, business lobbies can do pretty much whatever they want and the American people just lay down and take it. At a certain point, it becomes the complacency of the American citizen to force the politicians to do the right thing. If they don't, they get what they deserve.

And in this case.. getting what they deserve is a Republican President and Congress. The tea-baggers will be royally fucked by the policies of the people they worship, and I find that idea somewhat comforting.

It's not nice to wish misfortune on your political foes, but ya.. I'm okay with that. I remember the woman who organized the tea-bagging last summer, in protest of "government programs", who also said she was on disability and unemployment. It'll be nice if the Republicans cut those programs completely. Let's hope that Republicans destroy Medicaid and Medicare, and wipe out Social Security.

What that would do is wreak incredible havoc on the poor and middle class. Because wealth is relative, the rest of us will be that much better off. Instead of one housekeeper, we could hire entire families to slave at our plantation.

Good times.

That yesterday, the Democrats were key in defeating a bill that would allow the importation of cheaper pharmaceuticals. That is the hope-changey bullshit we get when we get Democrats elected. It also bans bulk price negotiations for Medicare.

This is not some nefarious plot by the Republicans to serve business interests. It is Barack Obama's agenda to do so.

I'd rather have a guy in office who isn't lying when he tells us that business interests come first.

....

Don't be surprised if sometime over the next year, I turn into a hard-core right winger. I won't die in endless wars, and I'll benefit from the Republican agenda of destruction. I tried to be the compassionate guy, but if those that need government to work for them don't force the issue, then there's nothing I can do about that.

Hmmm.. no more of my tax money for food stamps.. and I'm sick of my real-estate taxes going to pay for other people's education. That's more a local issue, but if we can get some "no tax" Republicans to control local government, maybe they'll eliminate subsidies for public schools.
