The Republican party put forward a candidate for Vice President of the United States, who seriously.. honest-to-Gorak, believes that.
It's not that surprising that the most brain damaged among the right wing, the Doug Gibbs' types, have such a visceral hatred of academia.. after all, most of them are unable to complete the course work.. or in Doug's case, unable to avoid getting kicked out of college.. but is quite another that they really did expect Palin to be taken seriously.
That we even got anywhere near that point says a lot about the decline in standards all across this nation. Or maybe.. a majority of the population in each nation are pretty fucking stupid.. even scary stupid, and it's nothing unique to the American culture.
