The left is the new right

Have you noticed how the Bush era has transformed the political landscape to the point that "conservative" means launching unnecessary wars, dictatorial executive power, record deficits, unchecked spending, an unprecedented expansion of the federal government, and completely insane religious nutbaggery?

The thought came to me as I've been reading in various places how the media gets it all wrong. Atrios points out the obvious when the media declares that Rudy Giuliani is "more to the right" than John McCain.

Atrios rightly points out that:

There's no reason Rudy "married my cousin got divorced twice screwed my girlfriend in the Mayor's Mansion where my kids lived regularly wore drag lived for awhile at my gay pals' place pro-choice" Giuliani is "more to the Right" of McCain unless we define "more to the Right" as "have head slightly deeper into Bush's ass."
Did Atrios make any of that up? Umm.. no.. He was fucking his girlfriend in the Mayor's Mansion, while still married, where his kids live.. and he did hang out with gay friends, and did the whole drag thing, and on and on.

So, you may ask what the first part I wrote has to do with the second. It's this notion that it's okay to be stupid. We see time and again that writers for the "mainstream media" totally fucks it up and gets it all wrong. I'm sorry but there is no possible way that Giuliani is more to the right than McCain. That's just fucking retarded.

So, how does that happen? It happens because stupid people are infiltrating important positions in business and they don't know that the people they hire are equally, if not more so, stupid. Our society is so politically correct now, that's it would be unthinkable to fire somebody on the grounds that they are too stupid to do their job.

There are a number of people I've worked with in my life that I thought were not bright enough to hold the job they had. If asked by management what I thought of them, I could never say "they are too stupid to understand the key concepts needed to perform their job" because I would come off as the bad guy. Am I telling the truth? Absolutely. But for some reason we don't want to hurt the stupid person's feelings.

Hence, you get a news media infested with really dumb motherfuckers. Have you ever listened to Larry King? Good god, he must have had a dozen small strokes and nobody has noticed.

Getting back to Giuliani, I find it odd that much of America thinks of him as some kind of hero because he was the mayor of New York during 9/11. That's like pinning a medal on General Douglas MacArthur.. He didn't fight the fucking war. Nobody shot at him. It was the men and women doing the job that were the heroes, not the "management" retards that get to pose in front of the cameras, and act as if their "leadership" somehow means a fucking thing.

That's the problem I've always had with management. They get paid huge sums of money, and they've basically just lied, cheated, and stolen to get the job in the first place. Their contribution to success is exceptionally small when compared to the people that actually do the tasks.

But don't get me wrong.. the "leader" types can certainly fuck things up with inane policies. Oh yes, that's certainly the way it usually works.. but to deify Giuliani for walking around New York giving uplifting speeches is silly.

Meanwhile, the men and women who died trying to do the right thing are forgotten.. much like the dead soldiers in Iraq. And the moron parade keeps on marching.
