Halloween Fright

Yes, the Republicans certainly are scaring us with their new nomination to the Supreme Court. Since the Christian freaks forced Miers to withdraw her nomination because she wasn't fucking insane enough for them, Chimpy has nominated Samuel Alito. He's a white male Catholic. YaY!

In fact, it was the Concerned (legally insane) Women for America, who picked this nutjob, at least according to the Washinton Post.

I'll bet if you polled the Concerned Women For America (the female members anyway), and asked them when was the last time they had an orgasm, most would answer 1983. That makes for some really cranky women who want to make sure everyone else is miserable too.

Alito is so nuts that he once ruled against the Family Leave Act, and William Rehnquist (who was as nutty right wing as they come) had to slap him down.

Alito's passion didn't move the Supreme Court, however, which overturned his decision in 2003. In a pointed rejection of Alito's opinion — accusing him of "disregarding" basic grammatical rules for interpreting the law — the Supreme Court fell back on the narrow and technical reading and denied Thomas her Social Security benefits. The author of this stinging rebuke to Alito? Justice Antonin Scalia.

In fact, Alito is so crazy that he thinks a woman's uterus belongs to her husband.

In the early 1990s, Alito was the lone dissenter in Planned Parenthood v. Casey, a case in which the 3rd Circuit struck down a Pennsylvania law that included a provision requiring women seeking abortions to notify their spouses.

Now - isn't it great that Rosa Parks died last week, and is now laying in state at the Capitol rotunda? They're sending Alito to "pay respects" to her. It's so amusing they are going to parade him about considering he supports racial discrimination.

The dissent's position would immunize an employer
from the reach of Title VII if the employer's belief that it had selected the "best" candidate, was the result of conscious racial bias. Thus, the issue here, is not merely whether Marriott was seeking the "best" candidate but whether a reasonable factfinder could conclude that Bray was not deemed the best because she is Black. Indeed, Title VII would be eviscerated if our analysis were to halt where the dissent suggests.

I'm quite certain Rosa Parks wouldn't want this man anywhere near her when she was alive. It's disgusting they are using her now for photo ops.

The good news is that most Americans think that George Bush sucks ass as president, and think the republican controlled Congress is even worse. The democrats will likely filibuster this nomination and he'll never get confirmed. I still think we'll end up with Gonzales, and while that's not ideal, at least he doesn't appear to be completely insane.

But just so you know who is running this country - it is the freak right wing Christians.. you know the sort you see on TV with the big hair, begging for your money.. so you can be SAVED by Jebus!

That is until they get caught fucking hookers (Jimmie Swaggart) or blowing guys (Jim Baker) and end up going to jail.

More insanity from Alito? Yes!

That was his ruling on a case where the police strip searched a 10 year old girl who was not named in the search warrant.

Why that matters?

He's saying the police can stick their hand up anybody's ass whenever they feel like it - regardless of our right to protection from unreasonable searches or seizures.

We like to call that "fascism".

And get this..

Alito helped author a Justice Department policy that "said that discrimination based on insufficient medical knowledge was not prohibited by federal laws protecting the handicapped. Employers, it said, may legally fire AIDS victims because of a 'fear of contagion whether reasonable or not.'

Can you fire somebody for being a legally insane Jebus fellating freak? At least let me kick them in the balls really hard..
